2025 Q2 Developer Notes 2025년 2분기 개발자 노트

Translated from the official kRO Zero announcement. Original

Hello. Greetings to all Ragnarok Online: Zero adventurers, this is the RO1 Studio Zero Team. We would like to inform you about the content updates and improvements planned for Q2 2025.

1. New Episode: [Legacy of the Thunder God] Following [Episode 3-2: Frozen Half-Moon], the final story of Episode 3, [Legacy of the Thunder God], will be updated. Valkyrie Axel's conspiracy is finally revealed. To save Rachel, Shigrun and the adventurer party head to Thor Volcano. They must stop the great catastrophe of Thor Volcano from awakening. Along with the Episode 3-3 update, the Thor Volcano Abyss Dungeon will also be added.

【Sigrun】

No need to hear more. Let the battle begin.

<A new enemy awaits at Thor Volcano.>

Upon progressing through Episode 3-3, you will be able to perform additional enchants on weapons, garments, and footgear.

2. Job Change (Trans) Improvements

For classes that can undergo Job Change (Trans), training up to level 99 and then transcending grants additional stats and skills. However, there has been continuous feedback and review regarding the inconvenience of having to re-level through the same range again due to level and quest resets after transcending.

Accordingly, we plan to improve the transcending process.

After reaching level 99 and transcending, upon reaching the 1st Job Change, you will start with Base Level 99 and 1st Job Level 50. Additionally, the episode quest reset process will be removed to improve early growth, allowing you to continue enjoying content seamlessly. For extended classes that do not have a transcending process, the HP and SP of the 2nd extended classes—Kagerou, Oboro, Rebellion, and Super Novice (Limit Break)—will be increased.

3. Base Experience Adjustment

The experience required for leveling up will be adjusted overall, with the 80–120 range receiving focused relief.

As the MAX level expansions (99/120/150, etc.) were implemented without adjusting existing ranges, certain sections that had become stagnation zones will now be adjusted to require an appropriate amount of experience per range, allowing growth up to level 200, where the 3rd Job Change becomes available.

1) Level 80–100 Range Overhaul

  • Required experience will be significantly reduced to ease the growth speed in the low-level range.

100 44,627,402 4,595,766

2) Level 100–200 Range Overhaul

  • Required experience will be eased to improve growth speed up to level 200, where the 3rd Job Change is available.
Level Reached Existing Base EXP Changed Base EXP
110 82,211,810 9,921,910
120 151,449,149 21,420,650

180 4,092,076,339 2,168,991,525
190 6,665,561,161 4,682,690,016
200 10,857,496,759 10,109,576,524

The required experience below level 80 and above level 200 will also be slightly adjusted.

4. Quest Experience Adjustment

As the required experience for leveling up is adjusted, quest experience for each range will be adjusted as follows.

1) As required experience is adjusted downward, quest experience for each range will be proportionally adjusted. 2) For quests that provided too little experience relative to their level range, the reward experience will be increased. 3) For one-time quests, the reward experience was set as a percentage of the quest level, which will be changed so that experience-boosting effects no longer apply, and the reward experience will be increased. 4) Support from the Sigrun Call quest, which was added to assist leveling in stagnation zones, will be discontinued.

The main point of the quest experience adjustment is that rewards will be set in proportion to the required experience adjustment, and by adjusting rewards for growth-range quests, the practical efficiency gained from completing quests will be significantly increased.

The areas targeted for quest experience adjustment will prioritize major growth quests such as Localizing, Illusion, and Episode quests, followed by sequential application to other areas.

5. Growth Area Overhaul

The area overhaul conducted in Q1 will be extended to all areas, including fields and dungeons.

1) Monster base experience will be significantly increased, while excessively obtained job experience will be adjusted. 2) Monsters and monster skills that increase hunting difficulty beyond the appropriate level range will be reduced or removed. 3) Map drops in some areas will be adjusted, and equipment item prices will be adjusted. 4) The price of some drop equipment items currently set at 20 Zeny will be increased. (Excluding crafting materials)

6. Early-Game MD Overhaul

As the early growth range overhaul proceeds, some MDs designed for farming equipment at level 130 or below will undergo revisions or removal.

1) MDs to be Revised - Old Glast Heim, Sarah's Memory, Faceworm Nest

For MDs targeted for revision below a certain level, the farming structure—where rewards were previously obtained only after completing the story each time—will be changed to a field farming structure that allows continuous farming.

After clearing the MD story once, you will be able to enter a special field associated with that MD, where you can hunt monsters to farm MD equipment and equipment enhancement materials without needing to create the MD instance.

2) MDs to be Removed - Poring Village, Orc's Memory, Prontera Underground Waterway, Ant Hell, Izlude Dungeon, Sunken Ship, Odin's Temple of Glory

Some early-game MDs will be removed. Some items previously obtainable from these MDs will instead be purchasable with Zeny from certain NPCs or obtainable as monster drops from field dungeons of appropriate level, while enhancement and enchant data on equipment items will remain unchanged.

7. Skill Balance Adjustment

Following the 3rd Job skill balance adjustments made to improve usability, skill balance adjustments will be conducted for all classes, including extended classes.

1) The coefficients of some attack skills will be adjusted. 2) Some skills will have their skill levels expanded. 3) Some support-class-related skills, such as Ensemble, Spirits, and Homunculus, will be strengthened.

8. Other Improvements

1) Storage Convenience Improvement

The Storage menu, the most frequently used menu among the Kafra and Jonda Agency NPCs, will be moved to the top, and the storage usage fee will be removed.

2) Additional Areas Available for World Tour Ticket Use

Areas that previously could not be departed from using the World Tour Ticket will be modified to allow travel out of them.

Target Areas - Midgard Allied Forces Post, Manuk Field, Splendide Field, Rachel Ice Cave, Rachel Sanctuary, Veins Thor Volcano Dungeon, Nameless Island

3) Allied Forces Post Convenience Improvement

Kafra, Guild Storage, and Merchant NPCs will be added to the Allied Forces Post in the other-world region.

4) Guide NPC Improvement

The Guide NPC, which previously only provided area coordinates, will now have the added functionality of directly transporting players to major locations.

5) Illusion Area Drop Penalty Application

As the Illusion areas, which were previously classified as special areas exempt from penalties, undergo the area overhaul, drop penalties will now apply equally as in other areas.
